Module 1
You learn the basics of electrical engineering. You read circuit diagrams and their symbols, build basic circuits and test them with measuring instruments.
For example
You measure voltage and current in a circuit, do the calculation and find a fault that way.

The largest part of module 1. You plan installations, choose cables, wire and protect the circuits. Then you test the protective measures.
For example
You install a two-way switch circuit for a lamp and then test the protective measures with the meter.

Control systems switch devices according to fixed rules. You read and draw circuit diagrams, describe how they work and adapt the control system.
For example
You wire a small control system from the circuit diagram and check that it works as the description says.

Electronics technicians work with computers and networks too. You set up hardware and software, connect devices to the network and protect data.
For example
You set up a computer, connect it to the network and create a backup.

- Who assesses
- The exam is held by the guild for electrical and information technology or by the IHK. BFI also gives you a certificate.
- What it allows you to do
- You know the content of the first year of training as an electronics technician. With it you can go on to in-company retraining or further partial qualifications in electrical engineering.
- Good to know
- Module 1 is a start, not a vocational qualification. Only the journeyman’s or skilled worker’s exam gives you that.
